Congratulations, lovers of superheroes, vampires, demon-hunters and 16th-century young royals: The CW has renewed five of its dramas for new seasons. Veteran shows “Arrow,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “Supernatural” and new series “Reign” and “The Originals” are all coming back for the 2014-2015 season.
CW boss Mark Pedowitz hinted at the network’s recent TCA session that he planned to keep “Supernatural” going for as long as its stars wanted. He also teased that early renewals for “TVD,” “Arrow” and “The Originals” were on their way, and also mentioned how happy he was with “Reign’s” performance in the ratings — and its consistently engrossing storylines.
The fates of “Beauty and the Beast,” “Hart of Dixie,” “The Carrie Diaries” and “The Tomorrow People” are still up in the air and will likely be decided closer to The CW’s May upfront presentation, when it will share its new season schedule with advertisers.
