Two and a half months into its existence, FXX has its first cancellation: The cable channel spun off from FX is pulling the plug on “Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.”
The late-night show’s final episode is set to air Thursday (Nov. 14), according to reports. Defamer broke the news of the cancellation.
“Totally Biased” was one of several FX shows to make the move to FXX when it launched in early September, and it simultaneously made the leap from a weekly to a nightly show. In hindsight, that may have been too much to ask.
The show suffered anemic ratings, sometimes drawing under 50,000 viewers. It did a little better on Wednesday nights following “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “The League,” but even then it was still well below its weekly numbers on FX.
