Fast National ratings for Friday, March 22, 2013

It takes more than a little March Madness to take on Jonathan Taylor Thomas and ABC’s sitcom finales: “Last Man Standing” and “Malibu Country” ended their second and first seasons, respectively, at the top of the Friday-night ratings. Both shows showed growth from previous weeks as well.

CBS continued with its NCAA basketball tournament coverage, while NBC saw ratings stay even for new episodes of “Fashion Star” and “Grimm.” Things were not so rosy over at FOX and The CW, where a “Kitchen Nightmares” rerun led into a down “Touch,” and a repeat of CW’s Justin Timberlake special led in to another low-rated entry for “Cult.”

ABC led the night overall with 6.5 million viewers and a 4.2 rating/7 share in households, easily beating NBC (3.9 million, 2.6/5) for the top spot. CBS (3.6 million, 2.3/4) was not far behind in third. FOX drew 2.8 million viewers and a 1.8/3, while The CW delivered 935,000 people and a 0.7/1.

ABC also kept the lead among adults 18-49 at 1.5. NBC and CBS tied with a 1.0, followed by FOX, 0.8, and The CW, 0.3.
