ncis april 29 14 ratings TV ratings: 'NCIS' and 'The Goldbergs' rise Tuesday, 'Supernatural' steadyFast National ratings for Tuesday, April 29, 2014

The usual suspects rose to the top of the ratings Tuesday, with “NCIS” rebounding some from its season low in the last original episode and capturing the night’s biggest total audience. A number of other shows also improved, including ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” FOX’s “The Mindy Project,” NBC’s “Chicago Fire” and The CW’s “The Originals.”

The CW’s “Supernatural,” which introduced a potential spinoff series, was fairly steady, as was “Agents of SHIELD” on ABC. The news wasn’t all good, though, as “The Voice” hit a season low among adults 18-49 (though it still led the night) and “New Girl” dropped as well.

CBS scored 14.3 million viewers and a 9.2 rating/15 share in households for the night, easily beating second-place NBC’s 8.05 million and 5.1/8. ABC (4 million, 2.5/4) finished a distant third. FOX (2.25 million, 1.5/2) took fourth, and The CW (1.9 million, 1.2/2) trailed.

CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic, albeit by a much smaller margin, posting a 2.2 rating to NBC’s 2.0. ABC came in third with a 1.3, followed by FOX, 1.0, and The CW, 0.9.
