Monday (May 5) was the annual Met Costume Institute Gala in New York City. The 2014 theme was White Tie and Decorations, and amongst all the gowns there were some definite hits and some definite misses.
Above are some of the best dressed — can you tell we love the black & white ensembles? There’s a reason it’s a classic. From left we have: “Sex and the City’s” Sarah Jessica Parker, Hailee Steinfeld, “Mad Men’s” Jessica Pare, “Rosemary’s Baby” star Zoe Saldana and “Keeping Up With the Kardashian’s” Kim Kardashian. We have to hand it to Kim, who looks 1000 times better than she did at last year’s gala (and it had nothing to do with her being pregnant).
Below are some of the worst dressed — the two outside ladies, Lupita Nyong’o and “American Horror Story” star Sarah Paulson appear to be re-imagining the Wicked Witch of the West, while Sandra Lee (second from the left) is a terrifying version of Cinderella. Also terrifying is Nicole Richie’s ensemble (second from the right). “Shameless” star Emmy Rossum’s (middle) dress has a beautiful cut, but we are not fans of the print.
Who do you think are the best and worst dressed?
