The official U.S. soccer Twitter account is having a lot of fun preparing for the all-important USA-Germany match Thursday (June 26). You can see in these Instagram and Vine videos that Will Ferrell is on hand to raise team spirit, plus U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann has kindly written everyone a work excuse note, since the game is airing right in the middle of everyone’s work day.

The game kicks off at noon ET/9 a.m. PT on ESPN. The winner will advance to the knock-out round as the overall No. 1 finisher in the Group of Death (Group G). If it’s a tie, both teams advance. If it’s not, the loser could still advance, but then it comes down to the outcome of the Ghana-Portugal game and tiebreakers. Stephen Colbert helpfully explains in this rather amusing video.
