abc fall 2014 predictions shark tank ABC fall TV 2014 schedule predictions: 'Shark Tank' could fill one black hole; what about the others?ABC did not have a great season in 2013-14. Yes, “Scandal” grew and grew. Yes, “Shark Tank” continued to perform strongly. And yeah, “Resurrection” was a pleasant surprise.

But the network is ending the season in fourth place among adults 18-49, and its crop of freshman shows was especially weak. Of the 14 scripted series ABC debuted this season, only three — “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD,” “The Goldbergs” and “Resurrection” — would seem to have good odds of returning for 2014-15.

For all that, though, ABC is not in as deep a hole as, say, NBC has found itself in recent years. There are strong, or at least competitive shows, on almost every night — it’s more a matter of filling in some really glaring weaknesses.

Take 8 o’clock on Thursdays, a black-hole time period for several seasons running on ABC. The network experimented with “Shark Tank” there a couple of weeks ago, with some success. Zap2it proposes making it a permanent move and giving Friday over to a two-hour block of family comedies. Tuesday becomes all dramas, while the other nights remain mostly intact, with a few new shows sprinkled in.
Here’s our take on what ABC’s schedule might look like next season. The network announces its lineup on Tuesday (May 13). All times are Eastern/Pacific; new shows are in italics.
