adam levine i hate this country gi Adam Levine defends 'I hate this country' comment on 'The Voice'

Adam Levine already took to Twitter to defend his “I hate this country” comment on “The Voice” by defining the words “misunderstand,” “lighthearted,” “humorless” and “joke,” but apparently that didn’t clarify his stance on the situation clearly enough. The Maroon 5 frontman also released a statement promising that he does not in fact hate the United States.

“I obviously love my country very much and my comments [on ‘The Voice’] were made purely out of frustration,” Levine tells Us Weekly. “Being a part of ‘The Voice,’ I am passionately invested in my team and want to see my artists succeed. [The] elimination of Judith and Sarah was confusing and downright emotional for me and my comments were made based on my personal dissatisfaction with the results. I am very connected to my artists and know they have long careers ahead, regardless of their outcome on the show.”

Levine now has one surviving team member: Amber Carrington. With three weeks left of the show, Carrington is competing against five others: the Swon Brothers, Holly Tucker, Sasha Allen, Michelle Chamuel and Danuelle Bradbery.
