It was Adam Levine whose voice was heard the most during May 28’s live episode of “The Voice.” The mentor’s microphone picked up his mutter, “I hate this country,” as two of his contestants — Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons — were voted off the show.

Levine hasn’t yet explained his comment, though he did take to Twitter to seemingly respond to it. The Maroon 5 frontman posted the definitions of the words “misunderstand,” “lighthearted,” “humorless” and “joke” in an attempt to defend himself against those he angered.

Zap2it was similarly shocked when Hill and Simmons were voted off, writing “both of this season’s frontrunners gone in one fell swoop.” The remaining six contestants include the Swon Brothers, Holly Tucker, Amber Carrington, Sasha Allen, Michelle Chamuel and Danuelle Bradbery.
