Sir Richard Branson has been on the receiving end of of a pretty fantastic customer complaint letter about his Virgin Airlines in the past. Perhaps that’s why he’s able to give one sent to another company the credit it’s due..
The billionaire posted a copy of a letter sent to Caribbean airliner LIAT by a frustrated passenger. The angry customer, Arthur Hicks, takes on a very sarcastic tone in his letter as he thanks LIAT for being considerate to their passengers.
“Most other airlines I have traveled on would simply wish to take me from point A to B in rather a hurry. I was intrigued that we were allowed to stop at not a lowly one or two but a magnificent six airports yesterday,” he writes, “And who wants to fly on the same airplane the entire time? We got to change and refuel every step of the way!”
He also talks about enjoying going through security at every stop, receiving pat downs. He adds, “I feel as if I’ve been hugged by most of the Caribbean already.” Eventually Hicks arrived at his destination, but the troubles didn’t end there. It seems the ferry he was supposed to take had already departed and “all those noisy bars and restaurants were closed.”
He gets in one final parting shot at what sounds like the worst flight ever, with “P.S. Keep the bag. I never liked it anyway.” What a terrible day for that guy. At least he was able to keep his sense of humor about the ordeal, to the delight of the internet.
