alec baldwin msnbc political show primetime gi Alec Baldwin to host MSNBC show report

Alec Baldwin may be getting his own primetime news show on MSNBC. The actor is reportedly moving to the non-fiction world of liberal politics with this new job.

Mediaite reports that a source at the cable news network has claimed the Baldwin show to be a done deal. Despite this, MSNBC has refused to make any sort of statement on the matter, indicating that talks are still in a relatively early stage.

Best known for his acting — notably his Emmy-winning role on “30 Rock” — Baldwin has also made headlines for his open and liberal political views. Any program on MSNBC is expected to highlight this.

Where in the MSNBC schedule might one find Alec Baldwin? The most likely spot seems to be 10 pm on Fridays — Lawrence O’Donnell occupies that timeslot on other weekdays. Baldwin’s potential show would replace the “Lockup” prison documentary series.

There is no known title for the Baldwin series at this point.

Should Alec Baldwin throw his hat into the political-pundit arena? Or should he just stick to acting and travel commercials?
