When “Fringe” left the air, fans of the show were sad. Luckily, the team behind it has another new program coming this Fall. “Almost Human,” from J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk and J.H. Wyman, stars Karl Urban (“Star Trek Into Darkness”) as a cop in Los Angeles, set in the year 2050.
Detective Kennix (Urban) returns to the police force after two years and is assigned a human-like android partner, played by Michael Ealy. Though the show is a mix of action and drama, there’s a fair amount of comedy in the trailer as Kennix and his synthetic partner get adjusted to one another.
Also joining the cast are Minka Kelly and Lili Taylor. “Almost Human” is set to debut midseason, Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
