talking dead chris hardwick AMC will be 'Talking Dead' after 'The Walking Dead'After walking the zombie walk this season, AMC will also talk the zombie talk.

The cable channel has greenlit a “Walking Dead” after-show called “Talking Dead.” It will premiere Sunday, Oct. 16 after “The Walking Dead’s” season premiere encore, then move to 11 p.m. ET Fridays starting Nov. 4.

Chris Hardwick, the host of G4’s “Web Soup” and creator/curator of Nerdist, will host the half-hour show, which will feature interviews with cast and crew members from the show and interaction with fans about the most recent episode. “Talking Dead” will also have a heavy online component for fans to continue the conversation.

“As an ENORMOUS [caps his] fan of both ‘The Walking Dead’ comic and television show, I pretty much begged for this job,” Hardwick says. “Dissecting the moves of Rick Grimes and the remaining survivors after every episode is something I would be doing with my friends anyway, so the fact that AMC is actually paying to do so is a bonus. … Additionally, it will better inform viewers on making intelligent decisions when faced with the zombie apocalypse, which will probably happen sooner or later.”

A handful of reality shows have had companion after-shows (“The Hills” and “Jersey Shore” come to mind, along with Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live”), but this is the first instance we can think of (at least in this country) of there being an on-air post-show show for a scripted series.

What do you think of the idea? Will you watch “Talking Dead”?
