reed grimm idol top 13 'American Idol' covers 'The Voice,' 'The Sing Off' judges' songsWas anybody else surprised by a couple of the song choices on Tuesday night’s (Feb. 28) “American Idol”? Reed Grimm kicked off the Top 13 mens’ night with the popular “Moves Like Jagger,” a 2011 song recorded by “The Voice” judges Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera. In fact, the song actually debuted on a June 2011 episode of “The Voice.”

Then later, Jeremy Rosado performed “Gravity” by “The Sing-Off” judge Sara Bareilles. Granted, “The Sing-Off” isn’t exactly “The Voice” in terms of hype or ratings, but it still struck has as kind of funny.

On the other hand, “The Voice” is going to have Kelly Clarkson, one of “Idol’s” biggest stars, join the show as a mentor for an upcoming episode. Is this all the shows’ way of saying they don’t care about each other? “Oh yeah, we’ll sing your judges’ song. We’re ‘American Idol.'” and “Oh yeah, we’ll use your winner as a mentor, we’re ‘The Voice.'”

So we guess we’re wondering – is it a case of actually being tolerant and civil, or is it a case of wanting to project an air of indifference?
