amy winehouse singing getty Amy Winehouse toxicology report: No illegal drugs in her systemA toxicology report on singer Amy Winehouse says there were no illegal drugs in her system when she died in July.

“Authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death,” Winehouse family spokesman Chris Goodman says in a statement. “Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.” The statement doesn’t mention whether any other substances, such as prescription medications, were found.

Winehouse, 27, was found dead in her London apartment on July 23. She had been to rehab several times to deal with drug and alcohol addiction, but at her funeral her father, Mitch Winehouse, said she had overcome her drug problem and curtailed her drinking.

“The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process,” Goodman’s statement concludes. Full results of the inquest into Winehouse’s death are due in October.
