andi-dorfman-the-bachelorette-ABC.jpgAs part of “The Bachelor: After the Final Rose” special on ABC Monday (March 10), it was announced that Andi Dorfman is the next “Bachelorette.” Just what do we know about this girl?

She’s a 26-year-old assistant district attorney from Atlanta, though she said on “The Bachelor” that she doesn’t like to read, which is kind of funny.

Andi also quit Juan Pablo’s “Bachelor” season after the fantasy suite date, when she realizes that Juan Pablo didn’t really know anything about her and only wanted to talk about himself. Interestingly, she then got upset that Juan Pablo wasn’t more upset that she wanted to quit, which is where Andi kind of lost us. We were hoping Sharleen would be the next “Bachelorette.”

But it’s going to be Andi. Her season starts taping later this week in Los Angeles and then it will debut presumably in late May, if it follows the normal pattern.

In her intro package, Andi says, “I could be engaged by summer.” Well, you’d better be engaged, because we’ve all seen what happens to people when they aren’t engaged and saying “I love you” by the end of the show. The “Bachelor” mafia takes you to task.

Are you excited, “Bachelorette” fans?
