chris soules bachelor chris harrison Arie Luyendyk out as 'Bachelor': Does this mean Chris Soules is in?Word on the street has been that the next “Bachelor” was a two-man race between Andi Dorfman’s third-place guy from Season 10, Chris Soules, and Emily Maynard’s runner-up from Season 8, Arie Luyendyk Jr. But now it seems that one man is out of the running.

“I’m not the Bachelor, have fun on the farm people,” writes Luyendyk on Twitter. “Thanks for the kind words everyone. It wasn’t meant to be, and I’m okay with it. Happy I can move forward.”

Does this mean Soules is for sure “The Bachelor” for the upcoming 19th season of the show? Not officially. ABC has no comment at this time but promises the announcement will be made on “Good Morning America” Wednesday (Aug. 27).

We would not be surprised if it is Soules. He was incredibly popular with both the live audiences at the “Men Tell All” and “After the Final Rose” and with the viewers commenting online during the “Bachelorette” season.

Despite his popularity, one has to wonder if the bachelorettes will be ready for life on an Iowa farm, which Soules told Zap2it at the “Men Tell All” taping is definitely a concern — though the ladies will know what he does for a living when they come on the show.

“Yes, I would definitely be worried about [the Iowa aspect],” says Soules. “But I
know that the way things work is that people would know — they have the
opportunity to say no before they get here. They’re coming into it a
little more aware [of who I am].”

Host Chris Harrison adds, “That’s
the whole point of finding the right match for that guy, and it does take
a particular woman who would move to Iowa and live on a farm. But I
think there are a million women out there who would happily line up. And
that’s our job, to find those women. But even those women who say they
will, when push comes to shove, will they really do it? We’ll have to

If pattern holds, “The Bachelor” will premiere in January 2015 on ABC.
