Spoiler alert: before getting marooned on an island for five years, Oliver Queen was kind of a douche.
We saw a very brief glimpse of Oliver before the shipwreck in the “Arrow” pilot, but in this week’s episode, we’ll get a much more extensive look at Oliver’s life as a much more carefree (and careless) billionaire playboy.
In this clip, we see the Queens’ final moments as a family before Ollie and his father, Robert, boarded the boat that would change their lives forever. (Thea’s not in the flashbacks — Willa Holland is a talented woman, but she’s a little beyond playing a 12-year-old girl!)
Starling City was his playground, and Laurel Lance was his girl. We’ve seen how much he loved her, just by virtue of the pining he did for her while on the Island. So what compelled him to sleep with her sister — a move he’s likely to regret for the rest of his life?
Watch the clip below to see just how much Oliver has changed. Ditching the khakis for green leather isn’t the half of it. Tune in Wednesday night at 8 p.m.!
