juan-pablo-galavis-bachelor-GMA.jpgIn preparation for Monday’s (Jan. 6) premiere of “The Bachelor,” host Chris Harrison and star Juan Pablo Galavis stopped by “Good Morning America” to talk about the upcoming season. Galavis says choosing to be “The Bachelor” was a hard decision because he was worried about hurting people.

“I knew it was gonna be hard. It’s not easy to make a decision … I hate hurting people. I was like, ‘Do you really want to do this? Do you really want to get into trouble with this?’ I knew I was going to have to hurt people, sending people home, so it was very hard,” says Galavis.

But he has to admit, he “had a blast.”

No word, though, on whether he found love or not. But either way, Harrison says that they could not have picked a more popular man to be the new star of the reality dating show.

“It was really an easy choice to pick this ‘Bachelor.’ He didn’t really go that far in his season of ‘The Bachelorette,’ but it was just overwhelming, the response to this guy,” Harrison says. “The charisma and the charm oozes out. When you met his family on the show last night, you see where it comes from.”

“The Bachelor” premieres Monday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
