breaking bad betty white guinness world records Betty White, 'Breaking Bad,' Taylor Swift earn Guinness World Records

Betty White and “Breaking Bad” both have been added to the Guinness World Records late in their respective lives. White, 91, earned the record for “Longest TV Career for an Entertainer (Female),” while “Breaking Bad,” only four episodes away from its series finale, was named the “Highest-Rated TV” series.

“I was astounded when [Guinness World Records] called to tell me. Who? Me!?! It’s such as honor. The book has always been fascinating to me. I can’t believe I’m now associated with it,” White says in a statement of her appearance in the 2014 edition of the book She says others looking to follow in her path should “do their homework and take the time to appreciate their profession. It is a privilege to do what we do.”

White’s career has spanned 74 years. She rose to fame on titles like “The Golden Girls” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” and continues to remain relevant thanks to shows like “Hot in Cleveland” and “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers.”

As for “Breaking Bad,” the critically acclaimed series earned a Metacritic score of 99 out of 100, which made it the “Highest-Rated TV Series.” Hopefully the upcoming series finale continues to make that title well deserved.

Taylor Swift earned her World Record for having “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” be the fasted-selling digital single of all time. It topped the iTunes chart within 50 minutes of its release. She also earned a title for being the first female solo artist to have two-million selling weeks on the US Billboard album chart. Meanwhile One Direction got a nod for “Live While We’re Young,” which was the highest debut by a UK group on the US Billboard singles chart.

“Guinness World Records 2014” will hit store shelves on Sept. 12.
