It didn’t quite live up to the studio estimates of a $63 million opening taking, but its $55 million was ahead of the no. 2 spot by over $30 million.

“The Conjuring” finished second at $22.1 million, “Despicable Me 2” was third at $16 million, “Turbo 3D” at $13.3 million for fourth and fifth was “Grown Ups 2” at $11.5 million.
