Forget Jimmy Fallon as Neil Young performing with Crosby, Stills & Nash. The real treat on late night Monday (July 8) was “NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams dissecting “The Bachelorette” on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.” His deadpan delivery is really what elevates it from funny to amazing.

“My wife and I are up to speed,” says Williams. “We have our own opinions about Andi. Juan Pablo kind of divided us as viewers, I think, into separate camps — Juan Pablo was a troubled man — Andi has a huge choice to make and I think home visits will prove a lot. After tonight, Seth, I think this will be a new era going forward. We’ll know more. Are there roadblocks? Are there IEDs in the road in front of this show? Yes.

“Opportunities as a homemaker in Iowa? Hello, red flag. If my mom doesn’t like you, it’s a no-go. Red flag numero dos.”

He then does a run-down of the four gentlemen who were left on the show at the time “Late Night” was taped:

“One’s wealthy, one’s wrapped up in the NFL draft, the other has a mom who casts a heavy vote in the family and the other’s from Iowa.”

Williams final message is this, “Andi, we’re with you. We realize this season has been one of heartache, great travel and adventure … what a season, I think you’ll agree.”

Meyers says he can’t help but really want Williams to host “The Bachelor,” but the newsman says he couldn’t do it with a straight face. We beg to differ and would absolutely die if he made a cameo hosting appearance.
