carrie underwood cmt music awards gi Carrie Underwood paying tribute to tornado victims at CMT Music Awards

When Carrie Underwood takes the stage at Wednesday’s CMT Music Awards, she will do so in tribute to those who have lost their lives in the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma.
Carrie is set to perform her newest single, “See You Again,” and she will be joined by the choir from Nashville’s Christ Church, according to the Associated Press. “I’ve never done that before,” Underwood says of using a choir, “and they just kind of take it to a whole ethereal place.”
During the performance, viewers will be told how to donate money to the Red Cross for tornado relief. The singer has already donated $1 million to the effort.
Carrie, who grew up in Oklahoma, is no stranger to the dangers of tornadoes. ” It takes what it wants and it knocks down what it wants and there’s nothing you can do about it except just try to be prepared,” she says.

The CMT Music Awards are live Wednesday (June 5) at 8 p.m. ET/PT. You can also stay tuned to Zap2it throughout the show for full coverage.
