casey kasem ailing wife jean kids feud Casey Kasem ailing; 'Cheers' star wife Jean Kasem won't let kids see the 'Scooby Doo' voice actorNew reports are saying that Casey Kasem, legendary radio DJ and the voice of countless TV cartoons, including voicing Shaggy from “Scooby-Doo” for decades, is in failing health and that his wife Jean Kasem is not letting his three children and other family members see him.

TMZ first reported that Kerri, Julie and Mike, Kasem’s children with his first wife Linda Myers, are trying to visit their father in his Beverly Hills-area home but Jean will not allow them access. In fact, the kids say they’ve been trying to see him for three months.

According to KABC, Kasem is ailing with advanced Parkinson’s and his family has now started a protest outside his mansion with a group of their friends and former co-workers of Casey because no one is being allowed to see him.

“I’ve got a feeling I might not see him again, and that’s why I’m here,” his brother Mouner Kasem tells KABC.

“My dad is very sick, and we have been completely shut off from him for
the last three months. There is no money issue
here, we just want to see our dad. We love him, and everyone knows his
kids and grandkids are a source of joy for him,” daughter Kerri tells the New York Daily News.

“Look, people fight and they don’t like each other, and that’s fine. But
it’s cruel to keep us from seeing our dad. We
don’t want any money from Jean. We don’t care about that. We were raised
well, and we support ourselves.”

But stepmom Jean has reportedly had the police come to keep the protestors back from the mansion gates. Jean, who is best known for playing Loretta Tortelli, the ditzy wife of Nick Tortelli, on “Cheers” and short-lived spinoff “The Tortellis,” married Kasem in 1980. They have one daughter together, Liberty.
