The yellow-shirt-clad, “Good grief!”-exclaiming blockhead, along with Snoopy, Lucy and the rest of the “Peanuts” gang, are coming to theaters in 2015, announced the heirs of comic creator Charles M. Schulz and 20th Century Fox Animation on Tuesday (Oct. 9).

“We have been working on this project for years,” Craig Schulz, the late cartoonist’s son and president of Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, says in a statement per E! News. “We finally felt the time was right and the technology is where we need it to be to create this film.”

Craig co-wrote the screenplay with his son, Bryan Schulz, with assistance from Cornelius Uliano. Steve Martino (“Horton Hears a Who!,” “Ice Age: Continental Drift”) will direct. The film is slated for a Nov. 25, 2015 release, commemorating the 65th anniversary of the comic strip’s debut.
