chris brown hit and run case dismissed gi Chris Brown lucks out with hit and run case dismissalOh, to have the luck of Chris Brown.

On Thursday (Aug. 15), the hit-and-run driving charge the singer faced was dismissed by a Los Angeles judge, the Associated Press reports. The judge said that Brown and the other driver had reached a civil compromise, dropping the misdemeanor.

The L.A. City Attorney objected to the dismissal, arguing before the judge that Brown (who was not present in court) was aggressive toward the victim after the accident, adding that the driver felt “castigated” over the incident on social media — presumably by Brown’s fervent fan base, Team Breezy.

The City Attorney also argued that, as Brown is on felony probation (you remember that one time he beat Rihanna?), his alleged misconduct of leaving the scene without offering up his driver’s license information was serious.

Ultimately, the judge wasn’t swayed by the argument and dismissed the case.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos spoke with TMZ after the dismissal, saying, “The case never should have been filed in the first place. It’s unfortunate he was being prosecuted for who he is rather than what he’s done.”

Do you think Brown got off easy?
