Is the above clip featuring Vik Sahay and Scott Krinsky of “Chuck” basically just an ad for the release of “Halo: Reach”? Yes it is. Do we care? Not a whole lot.
Product placement is, after all, one of the things that has helped keep “Chuck” on the air despite modest ratings over three seasons. And, come on: It’s Jeffster!, and Jeffster! is good.
“Chuck Presents Buy Hard: The Jeff and Lester Story” follows the Nerd Herders as they’re on the run from the authorities after torching the Buy More at the end of last season (they don’t yet know they didn’t do it, obviously). They decide to risk it all — “all” being a subjective term here — to return to the Encino Buy More and pick up a copy of the game, which hits shelves Sept. 14.
New chapters of “Buy Hard” will roll out daily through Friday on TheWB.com, and the conclusion goes live on Monday (Sept. 13). It’s not a bad way to tide yourself over until the Sept. 20 season premiere of “Chuck” on NBC.
