The infamous empty chair that Clint Eastwood addressed in his imaginary conversation with President Obama at the 2012 Republican National Convention did not simply get discarded or put away like so many other chairs.
Oh, no. This chair is being kept alongside other pieces of political memorabilia in Reince Priebus’ office at the Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington D.C., reports CNN.
Mark Preston and Michelle Jaconi of CNN observe that “the chairman of the Republican National Committee gets the joke. It’s the first thing he points out to a reporter before sitting down at his desk to discuss how his party much dramatically rethink its strategy and message in hopes of recovering from the presidential drubbing of 2012.”
Maybe some day it will move across town to the Smithsonian.
