The sixth season is officially happening on Yahoo. Now what is there for “Community” fans to look forward to? The movie, of course. “Six seasons and a movie” has been the siren song of the critically-acclaimed series and now it looks like something that might actually become a reality.
“There’s no way we’re not making the movie now,” Sony Pictures Television president of programming and production Zack Van Amburg tells THR. “I think once we make the movie, let’s look up and decide how much more ‘Community’ the world wants. We promised six seasons and a movie, how much more do you want?!”
While it’s still too early for details, Van Amburg adds, “I’d be lying if I told you that we have not had some very early and preliminary conversations that are very exciting about what a potential movie could be and who might direct it.” As for where it will end up, online or in theaters, that hasn’t been decided. However, Van Amburg revealed that a feature-length continuation “was not part of our Yahoo conversation.”
Still, the “Community” news just keeps getting better as time goes on.
