Following the Season 5 finale of “Community,” executive producers Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna sat down with “The Morning After” to field some fan questions. Naturally, one of the big ones was what are the chances the show returns for a sixth season?
“Not up to us,” says Harmon. “I was told by the studio that it was 60/40 in favor of a sixth season and then after a recent lunch with the powers that be, it’s now 60/40 the other way. I don’t think that’s true, I think it’s been 50/50 for five years and running. They’ve renewed ‘Parks and Rec,’ they haven’t renewed us, so we’re definitely more than on the bubble.”
“Community” has definitely always struggled in the Nielsen ratings, but as the guys point out in the video, that’s not the only metric by which to measure a TV show’s success anymore.
According to Zap2it’s Bubble Watch 2014, 67 percent of voters want to see “Community” return. Fingers crossed we get to return to Greendale sometime in the 2014-15 TV season.
