cory monteith autopsy Cory Monteith autopsy complete: Was illicit drug use a factor?

Cory Monteith‘s autopsy has been completed, but don’t expect to find out what the results say for a few more days. The British Columbia Coroners Service confirms that while the autopsy took place on July 15, the information won’t be released until later this week after the “Glee” star’s family has been informed of the results. The conclusions from the autopsy are expected to be ready on July 16.

“We don’t want them reading stuff in the newspaper or on websites first,” a rep tells The Hollywood Reporter. The autopsy and toxicology results were fast-tracked because of the worldwide attention on Monteith’s death.

The Coroners Service also tells the Associated Press that toxicology reports will take several more days to complete. Officials say that no foul play was involved and that there’s nothing to show that Monteith died due to “illicit drug use.” That was a big speculation due to the fact that Monteith recently admitted himself to rehab.

Apparently if autopsy tests prove inconclusive, additional tests will be done to discover the cause of his death. His body was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13. He was 31.
