Davis will play the son of a fireman, according to TVLine. Outwardly, the character is smart, athletic and competitive. Underneath all that, however, Davis’ character is something of a loner, described as having “the soul of a poet and the mind of a mathematician.”
That should be interesting.
The role will first come on to “CSI” in a late-October episode, and the show has not yet released the number of episodes in which Davis is set to appear.
Once known as the rich boy who dumped Reese Witherspoon in “Legally Blonde,” Davis achieved TV immortality as vampire-hunter-turned-reluctant-guardian-turned-vampire in the first three seasons of “The Vampire Diaries.” His character met a tragic end before the fourth season (although Davis has reappeared briefly in ghostly form). Davis then moved on to a starring role in “Cult,” playing a reporter chasing down a TV show that was way more than it seemed. The CW canceled that program this past spring after only one season.
The new season of “CSI” premieres Wednesday, Sept. 25 on CBS.
