portia de rossi ellen degeneres daytime emmyus 2009 gi 'Dancing With the Stars': Ellen DeGeneres says Portia de Rossi 'flattered' to be askedEllen DeGeneres clearly loves dance, so she’s interested in who is about to win television’s top showcase for smooth moves.

The award-winning comedian and syndicated weekday talk-show host admits she hasn’t been able to follow ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” as closely as she’d like, given her own schedule, but she’s up on it enough to call a winner in the finals that air Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 22 and 23).

“From what I’ve seen, Jennifer [Grey] is really good,” DeGeneres tells Zap2it. “Kyle [Massey] has impressed me, too, but I think Jennifer is really a good dancer. If I was putting money on it, I would say Jennifer [to win].” Bristol Palin is the third “Dancing” finalist, following Brandy‘s elimination this week.

Last week, reports surfaced that the U.S. “DWTS” would follow in the dancesteps of the Israeli version and have a same-sex couple. DeGeneres’ wife, Portia de Rossi, quickly rose to the top of the list of rumored celebrities. When asked about it on Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show she said, “I’m not going to pass. Let me think about it. I used to be a ballet dancer. It’s not completely a pass. You never know.”

But what about DeGeneres? Though she has a bit more time free — relatively speaking — since she won’t be returning as a judge on FOX’s “American Idol,” DeGeneres reports that the “Dancing With the Stars” producers haven’t asked her to be a contestant.

“They’ve approached Portia to do it, though,” she adds. “I don’t know how to do anything like that. I think it involves a ball gown, and that’s not me. And I don’t think Portia is going to do it, either, but she was flattered that they asked her.”

Big considerations related to music are in DeGeneres’ plans anyway, since she’ll play host to Mariah Carey, Annie Lennox and others on the annual TNT special “Christmas in Washington” Friday, Dec. 17.

DeGeneres also launched the record label eleveneleven earlier this year and says the first artist she recruited, 13-year-old Greyson Chance, is “doing very well. He’s been getting good reviews, and he has some songs that will be coming out on Valentine’s Day that are great … I mean, not just good, but really great.

“And this new kid I’ve signed, Tom Andrews, is in the U.K. He’s got a manager named Bill Silva who also handles Jason Mraz and James Morrison, and [Tom is] going to get started on something soon. There’s a lot of good talent out there, but I’m trying to go real, real slow with this.”
