For the Most Important Year theme week, “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Maria Menounos chose 1988 because that was the year she realized her parents were working so hard to keep a roof over their heads by being janitors in nightclubs all over Boston. Maria would find a spare quarter on teh floor and use it in the jukebox to play “Material Girl,” which was her song choice for the rumba.

The rumba is traditionally a slower dance and Maria and partner Derek Hough played that to the hilt, with a slowed-down, extremely sexy version of “Material Girl.” The audience and the judges were raving.

“You are such a beautiful, exquisite dancer. The maturity and the sensuality and the languid movement, nothing ever stopped the whole way,” says Carrie Ann. Len adds, “It was a mix of the balroom with a little touch of the bedroom … your technique was really good. Overall, fabulous dance.”

The judges also gave her three 9s, for a total of 27. Will she be getting your vote, “DWTS” fans?
