In case you weren’t already aware, former “The Wonder Years” star Danica McKellar really loves talking about math. After all, she has a degree in it and has written her own series of books about the subject.
It should come as no surprise that when she decided to make a web series, math would be the subject. “Math Bites,” which debuted Thursday (Jan. 9) on the Nerdist channel, features all kinds of madness, including puppets and clowns, to help McKellar explain a math concept.
The first episode digs deep into the world of pi. She explains its purpose, where it comes from, pop-culture references and even how Egyptians used it when building pyramids. You’ve never seen so much pi in your life. The episode concludes with her “Dance of the Sugar Pi Fairy” music video, which is definitely worth a watch.

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
