David Alan Grier, star of new CBS comedy “Bad Teacher,” has a new book in the works called “How to Tell Black People Apart.” He premiered this “passion project” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” with a video that that starts with the famous gaffe where a news anchor confused Samuel L. Jackson with Laurence Fishburne.

“I know it’s so hard to tell us apart,” says Grier in the PSA. “In ‘How to Tell Black People Apart,’ I start with the basics: The difference between 50 Cent and Mike Tyson. Pretty soon you’ll be on your way to knowing Rihanna from Ashanti, Kerry Washington from Zoe Saldana and Whoopi Goldberg from Lil Wayne.”

Grier says it’s easy if you follow the steps laid out in his mnemonic device “PATWWFLLM”: “Pay attention to what we f***ing look like, motherf***ers.”
