david hasselhoff tv land awards David Hasselhoff returns to 'Young and the Restless'David Hasselhoff will return to his soap-opera roots this summer, reprising the role that gave him his first big break on “The Young and the Restless.”

Hasselhoff will return to the CBS soap for a brief stint as Dr. William “Snapper” Foster, a role he played from 1975-82 before moving on to “Knight Rider,” a pop career, “Baywatch” and enough fame to be known simply as The Hoff. He’s scheduled to film his episodes in May, and they’ll air starting in June.

“Playing Snapper in 850 shows during the six years I appeared molded my craft, my attitude and my work ethic,” Hasselhoff says in a statement to EW.com. “Being asked to come back to appear in several episodes gives me a chance to say thanks. … I just hope I can remember all those lines.”

Hasselhoff also has an A&E reality show scheduled to premiere later this year that will follow his various business endeavors and his life with his teenage daughters.

To get warmed up for The Hoff’s return to “Y&R,” here’s a clip of him playing Snapper in 1982.
