doctor who 50th 1 'Doctor Who' 50th anniversary: 'The Day of the Doctor' photos released

At long last, the first photos from the upcoming “Doctor Who” 50th anniversary special, “The Day of the Doctor,” have been released. The pictures give the first real look at Matt Smith and David Tennant sharing the screen, and they’re joined by John Hurt who plays a dark Doctor.
The images also show Tennant back at the helm of the TARDIS. However, if you look closely you’ll see those are the controls of the tenth Doctor’s TARDIS, rather then the eleventh’s. Some have speculated that Eleven would cross with the version of ten that was locked away with Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) in a different universe. That doesn’t seem to be the case, though. Perhaps Eleven crosses timelines with Ten.
The photos don’t give away too much about the plot, and there still no sight of Rose. There’s still time for that, though. The 50th anniversary special airs November 23 on BBC America and will run 75 minutes.
