Season 4 of “Downton Abbey” is almost here, fans. To tide you over until then, check out the video above with a sneak peek clip of the premiere episode.

In the clip, the staff is discussing O’Brien’s (Siobhan Finneran) departure from the estate. According to the servants, she skulked off like a thief in the night and left them all in the lurch, with no lady’s maid for the Countess, Lady Cora. One can’t imagine there will be any shortage of applicants to take her place, however.

It also sounds as though the nanny for baby George is rubbing Thomas the wrong way. Surprise, surprise. And Anna informs Bates that Lady Mary is still mired in her depression, which EP Gareth Neame tells Zap2it is a theme of the season, at least early on.

“Downton Abbey” returns Sunday, Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on PBS.
