ITV has announced the premiere date for “Downton Abbey” Season 4 in the United Kingdom and it is just around the corner. Sunday, Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. local time on ITV the Crawley family will return to the airwaves across the pond.

What’s in store? Lady Mary choosing life (as opposed to wasting away after the tragic death of her husband) is going to be a main through-line of the story in Season 4, executive producer Gareth Neame tells Zap2it.

The suitors will eventually come around — because she is quite the eligible bachelorette — but not right away. Lady Mary is still very much grieving the loss of Matthew when the series begins.

We can’t wait to see where the show takes us in Season 4. “Downton” returns to the U.S. airwaves on Jan. 5, 2015.
