The Duggar family has a big announcement. Can you guess what it could possibly be? On “The Today Show,” Michelle, Jim Bob, their 19 children and two grandchildren were on hand to share the news.

“We really are excited. We are expecting our 20th child. Yes, yes! We are due in April and we’re just thrilled,” says Michelle.

“This is the farthest apart we’ve gone. Typically 16 to 18 months apart, so we were really kind of thinking [the 19th] might be our last. That was kind of sad. We were enjoying the grandbabies, they’re precious. But we are just so grateful to God, so excited,” she continues.

Their last child, Josie, was born in December of 2009, so it will have been over two years by the time no. 20 comes along in April.

Interviewer Ann Curry points out that she’s only got two kids and that is a lot of work, how do the Duggars do it?

“We always have the motto around our house ‘There’s always room for one more.’ They are such a gift, we are so grateful for each one of them,” says Michelle.

Jim Bob adds, “We just had one that got married and has his own family now, so we made room for another one … We didn’t want to stop at an odd number either.”

We’re curious to see which J name they come up with next. So far they have: Joshua, Jana, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna,
Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer,
Jordyn-Grace and Josie.

May we suggest Juliet for a girl and Jackson if it’s a boy. UPDATE: Thank you to our alert commenters for pointing out they already have a Jackson. There’s so many, we didn’t notice! We’ll go with Leigh Ann and suggest “Julian.”

This announcement coincides with the “19 Kids and Counting” finale on TLC Tuesday night (Nov. 8). We’re assuming the next season will be “20 Kids and Counting.”
