A manhunt is on for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a 19-year-old Chechen immigrant suspected in the April 15 Boston Marathon bombing. The FBI released a photo of Tsarnaev, who has reportedly been in the United States for 10 years.
In May 2011, the City of Cambridge awarded Tsarnaev a $2,500 scholarship for college. At the time, according to multiple reports, he was studying as a high school senior at Cambridge Latin and Rindge School, the alma mater of A-listers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
A website for the Cambridge public school boasts of its many celebrity alumni. “Great men and women have attended our Cambridge high schools. Many of them have gone on to accomplish great things,” reads commentary on the site. “Matt Damon (1988) and Ben Affleck (1990), friends from high school days, teamed up and co-starred in the film ‘Good Will Hunting’ for which they also won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay in 1998.”
Also listed along the notable alumni are basketball great Patrick Ewing and Tony Award winning actress, Margaret “Peggy” Cass.
Following the bombings, Affleck tweeted, “Such a senseless and tragic day. My family and I send our love to our beloved and resilient Boston.” He and Damon have yet to comment on the school connection to the suspect.

Tsarnaev’s older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, also a suspect in the bombings, was reportedly killed by law enforcement in Massachusetts Thursday night (April 18).
