“Eastbound & Down” has been renewed for a fourth season by HBO.
The pay cabler has ordered eight new episodes of the comedy starring Danny McBride as a washed-up former Major League Baseball star pitcher.
“Eastbound’s” third season, which aired this spring, was expected to be its last, so the extra inning should come as a pleasant surprise to fans.
“Anchorman” and “Talladega Nights” partners Will Ferrell and Adam McKay produce the series. Recurring guests include Ferrell as a car salesman and Matthew McConaughey, who plays a scout. Jason Sudeikis joined the cast in season three.
