eastwick cast 290 'Eastwick' magic is gone; 'The Forgotten' extended“Eastwick” failed to cast a spell on viewers this fall, and because of that it’s about to disappear.

The news is better, though, for the network’s other new drama, “The Forgotten.” The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced crime drama has earned five more episodes, bringing its total to 18.

“Eastwick,” ABC’s least-watched series this fall, won’t run any longer than its initial 13-episode order, the network confirmed Monday evening (Nov. 9). An ABC rep says the show, which stars Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price and Jaime Ray Newman, will finish filming its order and that the network will air all 13 episodes at some point.

For now, though, there’s only one more episode scheduled, on Nov. 25. The show is pre-empted for the next two weeks — the CMA Awards air this Wednesday, and an interview with Janet Jackson is set for Nov. 18.

“Eastwick” is averaging about 6.5 million viewers a week this season. “The Forgotten” has fared somewhat better, drawing 8.6 million viewers; both shows are averaging a 2.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. (All those numbers include seven-day DVR use through the first four weeks of the season).

“The Forgotten” stars Christian Slater as an ex-cop who leads a group of amateur detectives in solving cases where the victim’s identity is unknown. It’s part of a mini-trend this season in which new series have gotten less than full-season pickups; The CW’s “Melrose Place” and CBS’ “Accidentally on Purpose” also got extended to 18 episodes, a little short of the standard 22.
