Hasselbeck, who left her long-time hosting gig at “The View” in July, will join co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade on the show, which will also unveil a redesigned set that day. She takes over for Gretchen Carlson, who is moving to an afternoon show on the channel.

Hasselbeck’s debut on Fox News, incidentally, will come one week after “The View” returns with new co-host Jenny McCarthy.

– Discovery has announced plans for its next scripted miniseries: It’s “North and South,” a Civil War saga based on three novels by John Jakes. The source material was previously made into miniseries that aired in 1985 (“North and South”), ’86 (“North and South, Book II”) and ’94 (“Heaven & Hell”).

– FX Networks has ordered a pilot for “Bigfoot,” an animated series executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (“50/50,” “Superbad”). The show is based on Graham Roumieu‘s “autobiographical” graphic novels about the legendary creature. Roumieu will also be an executive producer, along with “American Dad” veteran Matt McKenna, who’s writing the pilot.

– Comedy Central has ordered a pilot called “Big Time in Hollywood, FL” from Ben Stiller‘s company Red Hour. The show centers on two brothers who fancy themselves filmmakers whose parents (played by Kathy Baker and Stephen Tobolowsky) kick them out of the house. Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf (web series “Next Time on Lonny”) are the creators. [Deadline]

– Also at Comedy Central: Comedian Dave Attell (“Insomniac”) will return to the channel to host an uncensored stand-up comedy series that will air in late night. Attell will also get his own one-hour stand-up special. Both shows are set for 2014 premieres.
