emma watson returning brown university gi Emma Watson plans to return to Brown University in the fall

Actress Emma Watson, famous for her role as Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” movies as well as more recent films like “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” will return to Brown University in the fall of 2013.

Watson talked about her decision to return to Brown with Rookiemag.com. She left the university after her second year, surrounded by rumors — which she debunked — of bullying. Now, after two years focusing on her film career, Watson is looking forward to designing her curriculum going forward.

When asked about what she was looking forward to in school, the 23-year-old actress was enthusiastic:

“I really like the fact that [Brown] has a very open curriculum, that there aren’t any requirements. Really, I’ve kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on ‘Potter’ when I was 9 or 10, and I liked that I could design my own major if I wanted to, and I could take independent studies if I wanted to on subjects that weren’t necessarily in the curriculum. I did an independent study on the psychology and philosophy of how and why we fall in love, which was awesome.”

Before Watson can get back to her philosophy and other academic pursuits, she will appear in two films this summer — end-of-the-world comedy “This Is the End” and real-life-based “The Bling Ring.”
