On the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet, Zap2it caught up with “Fargo” producers Noah Hawley (right) and Warren Littlefield, where they dished a little dirt on the FX anthology series’ second season.
“Details are hard to come by,” says Hawley with a laugh. “Obviously, we all know it’s about Sioux Falls and we know the whole Sioux Falls thing doesn’t go well for a lot of people. But I will say that it definitely feels more in the ‘Miller’s Crossing’ direction than in the ‘Fargo’ direction, while still maintaining that sort of core identity.”
For those of you who aren’t familiar, “Miller’s Crossing” is the 1990 Coen brothers’ movie about a mob advisor who finds himself caught between two warring mafia factions, which fits right in with what Littlefield teases when he says, “1979 was a cruel, cold winter. … Many perish.”
Based on what we know of the “Sioux Falls incident” from “Fargo” Season 1, that sounds intriguing indeed. “Fargo” Season 2 will premiere on FX no earlier than fall 2015.
