Kathy Griffin is opening up about co-host Kelly Osbourne’s departure from “Fashion Police.”
When Osbourne announced she was leaving the show, it was believed that her exit was because of Giuliana Rancic’s comment about Zendaya Coleman’s dreadlock hairstyle at the Oscars, saying it probably “smells like patchouli or weed.” Griffin speaks to another possibility, though.
“Sometimes [Osbourne] seemed very upset at the merely seven tapings of ‘Fashion Police’ we did together,” the comedian tells the Chicago Sun-Times

Griffin joined the series in January, after the passing of creator and host Joan Rivers. It was reported shortly after Osbourne left the show that she had been unhappy since Griffin’s first episode.
The comedian still speaks highly of Osbourne though, continuing, “I adore that family. I’ve spent the most time with [Kelly’s mom] Sharon. She is the real deal. Love her! Kelly came to my house a couple of times when Joan was in the hospital and we were consoling each other.”
As for Rancic — who says the joke in question was given to her by a writer for the show — Griffin has a piece of advice. “Don’t have anyone write you jokes or even suggest jokes for you on ‘Fashion Police,'” she says. “You have enough great insider gossip from actually being on the red carpet.”
