Greg Kinnear is headed toward his first regular TV gig since hosting E!’s “Talk Soup” in the early 90s. In “Rake,” Kinnear plays a brilliant lawyer, who is less than smart with his personal choices. He’s got a gambling problem, is in deep with a bookie, falls in love with a prostitute, has a woman who wants him dead and that’s only the beginning.
The show has a good pedigree. Based on an Australian show, “Rake” is from director Sam Raimi and one of the creators of FX’s “Rescue Me.” It also stars Miranda Otto, John Ortiz, Necar Zadegan and Tara Summers.
“Rake” is an hour long, and set for FOX’s midseason, Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET.

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
