“Happily Divorced,” the TV Land sitcom created by and starring Fran Drescher, has been canceled after two seasons.

The multi-camera sitcom was loosely based on Drescher’s real life marriage to the show’s co-creator and executive producer, Peter Marc Jacobsen. It centered on a middle-aged woman who finds out her husband of 18 years is actually gay. While the two divorced for obvious reasons, the formerly married couple continued to live together. John Michael Higgins co-starred as the ex-husband.

They just both had their own dating lives.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ratings had dropped significantly since the show’s premiere. 2.4 million watched when “Happily Divorced” began in June 2011, but that number dwindled to only 1 million by the Season 2 finale in February 2013.

“Happily Divorced” was the third original sitcom developed for TV Land. Its predecessor, “Retired at 35,” has also been canceled, while “Hot in Cleveland” has been renewed for Season 5. New comedies from Kirstie Alley and Darren Star will take the places vacated by the older shows.
